Handmade in India

Inspired by a vintage silhouette, this elevated blouse has been crafted with handloom fabric ~ a rare and exclusive sustainably handmade textile in modern times. Featuring a flowing oversized blouse design with a classic poet-style collar and optional tie, romantic billowy sleeves finished with soft elasticated cuffs with sparkling gold lurex and white detailing on a deep sapphire blue base.

Material ~ 100% Handloom Cotton.

The Poet Blouse is designed to be an oversized fit. If you prefer a more fitted style we recommend sizing down.

Garment Care ~ Gentle, cold water hand wash using natural detergents, and hang drying in the shade. Handcrafted garments are delicate, however, designed to last when treated mindfully with love and care.

Ethically handmade with love in India, The Poet Series serves to support local traditions and the preservation of the ancient artistry of handloom weaving.

Our order of hand loomed fabric was distributed throughout an entire village in Southern India, roughly 100 homes worked on piecing the fabric for these garments together, providing employment and supporting the continuance of this tradition that holds an expected life-span of only 10-15 years. The Poet Series styles are destined to become vintage due to the rare exclusivity of hand-loomed fabrics in modern times.

lovely

Absolute perfection. I've gotten so many compliments and I feel beautiful in it. I also love how it dries quickly and doesn't need ironing/steaming due to it's slightly crinkled texture. I bought a second one in vanilla.

Beautiful blouse! No need to size down.

This blouse is so lovely - the gold in the fabric means you can dress it up or down, and I like that it's a little thicker and sturdier than the fabric on the Kyra dresses, so I can wear it in cooler weather! I took the overwhelming advice to size down to an S, but ended up exchanging it to my usual size M. Yes, it's a voluminous billowy garment, but I missed the length with the S, I couldn't really tuck it in at the front or throw it back on my shoulders (I'm 165cm for reference). The M is significantly longer, and IMHO, better proportioned to set off the volume. I guess checking the garment measurements against something you already have is a good idea, and thinking about how you want to style it. Anyway, thank you DOI for making such beautiful, ethical clothes! I'm loving seeing all the new designs come out xox

Lovely, but thick and rough texture

I had high hopes for this beautiful blouse, but was very surprised to find the fabric very thick, not soft, and actually almost scratchy. I washed it several times to see if it would soften up, but no. It’s pretty, so it will get worn, but I had expected a much different fabric — thinner and soft and drapey. Also, the gold thread is a golden color, not actually shimmery, which was also disappointing :(
